A Clear Guide to Choosing the Right Facial Cosmetic Service

Selecting the best facial treatments to help you reach your aesthetic goals isn’t always easy, thanks to a wide array of options to choose from. Here’s what to know about the treatments we offer and how we can help you find the right one.

There's no denying your face often takes the brunt of visible age-related changes. From wrinkles to lost volume to sagging jowls, changes in your facial structure can definitely make you look — and feel — older.

Fortunately, there are lots of options that can help “reverse” or reduce those issues — but, perhaps unfortunately, having so many options can also lead to confusion when deciding which option — or combination of options — is best for you.

Fortunately, E. Jacob Simhaee, MD, FACOG, and his team are ready to help. With advanced skills and extensive experience in a wide array of facial cosmetic options, they can help you select the treatments tailored to helping you achieve your own personal goals.

Here’s a quick snapshot of some of the most popular cosmetic treatments we offer.

Injectables

Injectables are the most popular, non-surgical way to refresh your appearance. How popular? So popular are injectable treatments that more than 10 million are performed each year in the United States, according to data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Simhaee and his team offer an array of injectables to help every patient maximize their benefits.

Neurotoxins like Botox®, Dysport®, and DAXXIFY® help smooth and reduce crow’s feet, frown lines, and other lines and wrinkles caused by facial expressions — so-called dynamic wrinkles. They’re also ideal for reducing “smoker’s” lines or puckers around the mouth area and to achieve the popular, pouty “lip flip.”

Dermal fillers like Restylane®, Juvéderm®, and resilient hyaluronic acid (RHA) products are designed to treat “static” wrinkles caused by sun exposure and aging, restoring lost volume while enhancing your facial contours. These fillers are often used to restore volume in the cheeks and lips and to define the jawline.

Microneedling

Microneedling improves skin’s texture by creating tiny “micro-injuries” in the skin’s upper layers. In turn, these injuries stimulate natural healing responses, including the development of new, healthy collagen, one of the building blocks of skin.

Over time, microneedling helps the skin look and feel smoother and firmer, making it an ideal treatment option for cosmetic concerns such as stretch marks, scars (including acne scars), fine lines, and enlarged pores. Since microneedling creates tiny “channels” into skin’s deeper layers, it’s also frequently — and effectively — combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or special skin-nourishing serums.

Morpheus8®

Morpheus8 is a treatment that combines microneedling with another skin-regenerating treatment: radiofrequency (RF) energy therapy. The tiny channels created by microneedling allow RF energy to penetrate deeper layers of skin, stimulating collagen production and tissue remodeling. The result: firmer, smoother skin.

This unique combination treatment can be a great choice for anyone with moderate skin laxity or wrinkles who wants to restore a more youthful, less stressed, or “worn” appearance. Like “regular” microneedling, Morpheus8 results typically improve over time, making it a popular option for long-term skin rejuvenation.

Agnes® RF

Agnes is a special type of RF therapy that targets specific areas with highly precise bursts of controlled energy. This unique delivery system makes Agnes an ideal option for treating the delicate area around your eyes or stubborn areas like your jawline.

Agnes is especially good at treating small pockets of fat and mild-to-moderate skin laxity. Precisely applied energy also yields highly refined results without affecting the surrounding tissue.

Opus® Plasma® and Opus Colibri®

Opus Plasma is another “combination” treatment, this time combining  RF energy with plasma energy to resurface and rejuvenate your skin. By creating tiny micro-injuries, Opus Plasma therapy stimulates collagen production and encourages skin turnover, all without the downtime associated with traditional resurfacing treatments.

Opus Plasma is highly effective at addressing issues such as fine lines, mild sagging, and uneven or rough texture, leaving skin looking and feeling more refreshed and youthful. Opus Colibri uses the same technology, but its unique delivery system makes it a good choice for treating more delicate areas, such as the skin around your eyes and mouth.
