EMSCULPT NEO®: The Noninvasive Body Sculpting Treatment That Banishes Fat and Builds Muscle

EMSCULPT NEO® is a unique, noninvasive body sculpting system that combines two energy sources to help tone muscle and melt away stubborn pockets of fat. Here’s how it can help you get toned contours without hours at the gym.

Going to the gym is a great way to stay fit. There’s no doubt that thousands of sit-ups, planks, and lunges can help tone your body and define your muscles. So why not do it? Because for many of us, spending countless hours exercising every day is time-consuming, uncomfortable, and yes, boring.

The good news: If you’ve already done the hard work of losing excess weight, EMSCULPT NEO® can take you to the next level, helping you get the toned, sculpted look you want without haunting the gym — even in areas that don’t respond to diet and exercise.

In this post, E. Jacob Simhaee, MD, explains how this state-of-the-art, noninvasive treatment works and how it could help you look and feel your best.

EMSCULPT NEO: How it works

EMSCULPT NEO is a noninvasive body sculpting system designed to help refine weight loss and define muscle tone, using two types of energy: radiofrequency (RF) energy and high-intensity electromagnetic energy (HIFEM®). Combined, both types of energy help you get the results you’re looking for.

RF energy

Radiofrequency energy waves create gentle heat, targeting fatty tissue that doesn’t respond to your best weight loss efforts. As the fat cells heat up, the cell walls “break down,” and the fatty debris that remains is collected and disposed of by your body naturally over a few weeks.

HIFEM energy

HIFEM energy is delivered in tiny, measured bursts. These bursts trigger muscle contractions — thousands during your half-hour treatment session. That’s like doing thousands of sit-ups or crunches in just 30 minutes. Repetitive muscle contractions break down muscle tissue and stimulate muscle rebuilding to create better tone and definition over time.

It’s important to know that while EMSCULPT NEO can help remove stubborn pockets of resistant fat, it’s not a weight loss treatment. Our team recommends EMSCULPT NEO treatment for women and men with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or lower. Prior to your initial session, we’ll review your goals and your health to map out a treatment plan just for you.

What to expect during your treatment

EMSCULPT NEO is performed right in our office with no need for incisions or anesthesia. Our team uses EMSCULPT NEO to treat stubborn fat on your:

  • Abdomen
  • Buttocks
  • Arms
  • Calves
  • Thighs

During each half-hour session, you’ll recline and relax while we apply the special applicator to your “trouble spots.”

It’s normal to feel some warmth and pressure-like sensations from the triggered muscle contractions. We can adjust the intensity of your treatment to maintain comfort while still providing you with optimal results. The applicator uses a gentle massage action to help rid your tissues of lactic acid, a natural “byproduct” of exercise that’s responsible for post-workout soreness.

After your session, there’s no downtime — you can go back to regular activities. It’s normal to feel some mild soreness in the treatment area, an effect that clears up soon after your treatment.

It’s not uncommon to experience noticeable benefits after just one session. However, most people benefit from a series of treatments spaced out over a few weeks to achieve their goals.

Tone and tighten your stubborn areas

EMSCULPT NEO can help you get a firmer, more toned, more defined body, but it’s not a replacement for a healthy lifestyle. In fact, once you achieve your goals, regular exercise and a healthy diet will help you look and feel great indefinitely.

Don’t let isolated areas of stubborn fat or flabby cellulite make you feel self-conscious. To learn how EMSCULPT NEO can help, request an appointment online or over the phone with Dr. Simhaee and our team today. We’re located in Manhasset and Forest Hills, New York.
